A Louisville native, Anderson has produced The Moth StorySLAM in Louisville for the last three years. She also contributes articles to Louisville Magazine.
"We are excited to have Tara join the newsroom," said Brendan McCarthy, WFPL's Interim News Director. "She's multi-talented, with in-depth knowledge of the community and its arts scene."
Anderson worked for nine years at WFUV at Fordham University in the Bronx, New York. There, she served as assistant program director, helping manage the station, as well as reporting and producing shows and special projects. She also previously worked as program coordinator for University of Kentucky Opera Theatre.
Anderson earned undergraduate degrees in journalism and music performance from the University of Kentucky. She later earned a masters degree in Public Communications from Fordham University. She is currently working on a master of fine arts degree in playwriting at Spalding University.
