91.9 WFPK Opens 3rd Season of WFPK Winter Wednesday Concert Series on November 12th with Performances by Charlie Mars and Alex Wright

91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville’s free winter concert series returns! Now in its third season, WFPK Winter Wednesday concerts will take place once a month, November through February at the Clifton Center. Doors open at 6:30pm. The music will start at approximately 7:30pm.

November’s concert will feature Charlie Mars and Alex Wright. WFPK favorite, Charlie Mars has just released his newest album, “The Money,” the final volume in his Texas trilogy (so named because the first two albums were cut in Austin).

Multi-instrumentalist Alex Wright was recently recognized as singer/songwriter of the year at the 2014 Louisville Music Awards.

2014-2015 WFPK Winter Wednesday dates:

November 12, 2014
December 10, 2014
January 14, 2015
February 11, 2015

Additional programming announcements will be made as concert dates approach. Check in to WFPK.org for the latest details.

WFPK Winter Wednesday was created in 2012 as a way to continue WFPK’s successful concert series, Waterfront Wednesday, during the winter months. The series is presented by 91.9 WFPK and the Clifton Center and is first come, first seated and FREE to all. The Clifton Center is located at 2117 Payne Street Louisville, KY 40206. Preferred seating is available to members of 91.9 WFPK and the Friends of the Clifton Center.  Members will receive information via email to reserve their seats prior to the general public.

Support for WFPK Winter Wednesday comes from  Sweetwater Brewing CompanyQuest Outdoors, Eclipse Bank and Gumer & Co. Jewelry with special thanks to the Clifton Center.

Winter Wednesday also continues WFPK’s long partnership with Yum! Brands Foundation to raise food for Dare to Care. Everyone in attendance is encouraged to bring canned goods and other non perishable food items to be collected at the door.
