89.3 WFPL News Joins Here & Now Contributors Network

89.3 WFPL News has been selected as a contributor to Here & Now, a nationally syndicated, live, midday radio news program  produced by WBUR, Boston and National Public Radio (NPR). The new Here & Now Contributors Network will utilize selected public radio stations across the country to deepen the program's breadth of coverage and diversity of perspectives. Fifteen stations were chosen to enter the network based on their interest, location and journalistic strength.

The Here & Now Contributors Network represents a new paradigm for how news-focused stations within the public radio system collaborate and contribute to a daily NPR network news program.  Contributors to the network will have their stories and interviews featured regularly on the two-hour show.

"I'm very pleased that our Louisville-based stories on arts, politics, environment, and education, and well as the output of our new investigative reporting center, will now be distributed on a national platform on a regular basis," said Donovan Reynolds, President of Louisville Public Media. "WFPL's selection is a real tribute to the work that Gabe Bullard and his entire team have done to expand our news effort."

About Here & Now:

NPR, WBUR, Boston and public radio stations across the country are joining forces to bring listeners live news and analysis in midday with Here & Now. Here & Now offers a distinctive mix of hard news and rich conversation featuring interesting players from across the spectrum of arts and culture, business, technology, science and politics. Here & Now, produced by WBUR since 1997, is expanding to two hours on July 1 with co-hosts Robin Young and Jeremy Hobson.
