91.9 WFPK and Yum! Present Food-Raiser 2011

91.9 WFPK and Yum! Brands Foundation Present a Dare to Care Food-Raiser Featuring Ponderosa and Burlap to Cashmere   

91.9 WFPK and Yum! Brands Foundation present Ponderosa and Burlap to Cashmereon Wednesday, November 23, at 9 p.m. (doors open at 8 p.m.) at Headliners. As part of this annual “food-raiser,” Dare to Care will be collecting canned goods and frozen turkeys at the door

Tickets for this 18 and over show are only $10.00 in advance and $12 on the day of show.  Tickets are on sale now at Louisville Public Media (619 S. Fourth St.), Headliners Box Office (1386 Lexington Rd.), Ear X-tacy (2226 Bardstown Rd.), online at headlinerslouisville.com and at the door on the night of the show. 

Atlanta-based Ponderosa was a huge hit at this summer’s WFPK Waterfront Wednesday series and will bring their powerful mix of soul and southern rock back to Louisville.  Brooklyn’s Burlap to Cashmere promise an inspired night of folk-rock for the 21st century, blending impeccable songwriting with distinctive Mediterranean rhythms and tight harmonies.

 “91.9 is proud to produce this annual food-raiser with Yum! Brands Foundation and Dare to Care,” says WFPK program directorStacy Owen.  “We’re excited to bring two of our favorite bands from 2011 toLouisvilleand to invite our community to take part in this important initiative.”   

 Yum! and its brands have been committed to fighting hunger for more than a decade by donating $46 million of prepared food annually to the underprivileged in the United States.
