91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville invites you to “Rock ‘n’ Stroll” for Louisville’s public radio stations on June 18 at Iroquois Park and Amphitheater. The ticketed event begins at 5 p.m. and culminates with a performance by Ben Sollee and his full band performing songs from his forthcoming May release, Inclusions.
Proceeds from the walk benefit Louisville Public Media’s 91.9 WFPK, Classical 90.5 and 89.3 WFPL.
Sollee, the collaborative “genre bending cellist from Kentucky,” whose approach to music blends folk, soul and R&B was hailed by NPR’s Morning Edition as one of the “Top Ten Great Unknown Artists of 2007.” He “explores contemporary folk music in an urbanized world” (Jambase.com). “His music, originality and humanity make him the perfect artist for this community event, “says WFPK Program Director Stacy Owen.
The $25 ticket includes the walk through Iroquois Park, the Ben Sollee concert, a t-shirt, early admission to the amphitheater before the general public, and membership to Louisville Public Media. Concert-only tickets to the 8 p.m. show are $20. For a schedule of events, visit https://wfpk.org/rock-n-stroll/.
