Known for his distinct voice, which David Bowie once described “like sand and glue,” singer-songwriter Bob Dylan has shaped American music and culture for more than 50 years.
“Blowin’ in the Wind,” “Like a Rolling Stone” and “Tangled Up in Blue,” are just a few of the many timeless songs he has composed. And now, Louisvillians have a chance to see Bob Dylan and His Band live at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts this fall.
The Grammy and Oscar-winning musician released his 37th studio album "Fallen Angels" in May of this year.
Dylan’s more recent tours have been met with mixed reviews. The New York Times’ Ben Ratliff described Dylan’s 2013 “AmericanaramA” tour as “so much the summation and apotheosis of dad-rock that no experience of dad-rock may ever match it.”
Meanwhile, Vanity Fair’s digital director Mike Hogandescribed the versionhe heard of “Tangled Up in Blue” from the same tour as a “sprawling masterpiece that, performed live, typically collapses under the weight of its own ambition, and was sublime from start to finish.”
If you want a chance to judge for yourself, tickets for the Nov. 1 show will go on sale this Friday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. More information is available here.
