Thousands lined up at the KFC Yum Center Wednesday morning for tickets to Muhammad Ali’s funeral service. And while the huge demand left some latecomers frustrated, many were still happy to share their memories of the man the world knows as The Greatest.
Fans from Louisville and beyond hung around to enjoy each other’s company, share their stories and bond over the heroic figure.
WFPL's Marnix Warren asked some to share their favorite Ali stories with WFPL.
Listen in the player above to stories from Rodney Weaver, Synthia Quinn, Deacon Floyd Jones, Donna Beasley, Tom Frazier, Claude Dryden and Mary Ann Thomas.
If you'd like to share your own, record yourself on your smartphone's Voice Memo app and send it to news [at] wfpl.org with the subject line ALI STORIES.
