The Federal Communications Commission has approved the sale of four Louisville radio stations.Cox Media Group announced last year that it was seeking a buyer for Lite 106.9, Country Legends, New Country and WSFR the Eagle, along with stations in Hawaii, Alabama, South Carolina, Virginia and Connecticut. In February, it was announced that Summit Media, which at the time owned no radio stations, was seeking to buy the bundle for about $66 million. The FCC approved the sale today. The Atlanta-based Cox Media Group is moving away from smaller market radio stations after purchasing TV stations in Florida and Oklahoma. A Cox spokesman says the company wants to focus on cross-platform cooperation between radio and TV properties.
