Trey GraysonKentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson was recently elected president of the National Association of Secretaries of State. Grayson is the first Kentucky secretary to hold the position. WFPL’s Gabe Bullard talked with Grayson about his goals within the organization, which includes revamping the electoral primary system.

High School Dropout Rate America’s Promise was part of a city-wide summit in Louisville last week to discuss ways to reduce the high school dropout rate in Jefferson County. Urban FarmingThe Windy city just launched the "Chicago Fresh Initiative," which, in part, aims to start growing food on vacant city properties. The Kansas City Center for Urban Agriculture offers city farmers a spot in a communal greenhouse. Seattle’s P-Patch community gardens now supply nearly 10 tons of food a year to city food banks. While community gardens and farmer’s markets have long histories, new attention is being paid to urban farming as a viable way to feed families. WFPL’s Kristin Espeland reports.

Film Industry in Kentucky Filmmakers are making more films outside of Hollywood thanks to state tax incentives. More than 40 states are offering big film industry tax credits and Kentucky could be next. Elizabeth Kramer reports.

It's called Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing. Rick Howlett caught up with Mignon Fogarty, aka Grammar Girl, at her home in Reno, Nevada.
