Five Local Businesses Awarded City Loans

The city of Louisville has awarded $320,000 in loans to five local businesses to help expand and open new projects in the area.Approved by the Louisville Metropolitan Business Development Corporation, the loans have an overall potential investment of $8 million, according to Mayor Greg Fischer's office.The businesses include:· $100,000 loan to Bristol Bar & Grille, LLC. The loan will allow owner Doug Grossman to move the Bristol’s catering operation from 636 East Market to the Mellwood Arts Center, increasing its square footage from five thousand to seven thousand two hundred feet. This move will create two full-time and six part-time positions.

· $40,000 loan to Furniture Assurance Group, LLC located at 7500 Jefferson Boulevard. The loan will allow owner Mike McCord to open a Weekend Furniture Warehouse, a store that offers furniture in the low-to-mid range price points four days a week.

·$100,000 loan to Main Street Coffee and Deli, LLC. The loan will allow owners Laura Schnell and Mary Steinbrecher to open a restaurant and coffee shop at 217 East Main that will sell gourmet coffees, specialty drinks and deli foods.

· $30,000 loan to Rumbaugh Development. The loan will allow David Rutledge, owner of two Rumball’s Family Sports Bar locations, located at 10000 Highway 22 and 5901 Terry Road, to hiring additional employees and make cosmetic improvements to the dining area.

·$50,000 façade loan to Ice House Lofts, LLC. The loan will allow owners Dave Steinbrecher and Mike Schnell to make improvements to the rear portion of the building that faces East Washington Street and will become an event hall.
