Kragthorpe Wants to Return Next Season

University of Louisville head football coach Steve Kragthorpe says despite the challenging season and the negativity surrounding his program, he’d like to come back at head coach next year. The Cardinal broke their nine-game losing streak to Big East opponents last weekend, with a 10-9 win over Syracuse. But many fans are wondering if Kragthorpe – who has two years remaining on his contact – will be back for another season.Kragthorpe says the questions surrounding him haven’t made him want the job any less.“Although we haven’t won as many games as we’ve wanted to, we’ve been very, very close in a lot of games this year, and I don’t think we’re that far from being the kind of team we want to be, and that’s a team that competes for the championship, and I definitely want to be here next year," says Kragthorpe. This weekend, the Cards face the University of South Florida, a team that has lost its last three Big East match-ups. The now four-and-six Louisville team will then end its regular season with a home game against Rutgers.
