Louisville Public Media Hires Development Officer

Louisville Public Media Hires Development Officer

Layla George Joins LPM to Support Donor Engagement Initiatives

Louisville Public Media (LPM) has hired Layla George as Development Officer for Louisville’s three public radio stations: 89.3 WFPL News, Classical 90.5 WUOL and 91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville. This new position helps Louisville Public Media grow its mission of community service by strengthening the fiscal stability of the organization through strategic fundraising and increased donor relations.  George joins LPM after serving as Business Manager for Ashbourne Farms for a decade where she oversaw business planning, fundraising events, and sales.

George has served on a number of non-profit boards and committees, including the Louisville Ballet, the Greg Fischer Local Food Economy Taskforce and as the Capital Campaign Co-Chair for Chance School.

Since its founding in 1996, when Louisville’s three public radio stations came together under one umbrella organization, LPM has made industry-leading strides in management efficiency, audience growth and community support. LPM has made substantial investments in expanding the newsroom in order to reverse the significant decline in local journalism and community service. A focus on building awareness and use of these services is essential to the organization’s future strength and public service.
