“David Wax and Suz Slezak, the married couple who form David Wax Museum, have put an extraordinary amount of research and work into their sound. They've spent years studying folk music in Mexico, digging back to its roots there to find inspiration, and have traveled the world as official "cultural ambassadors." –NPR's All Songs Considered

WFPK Winter Wednesday is also the official album release show for Daniel Martin Moore’s latest record. The Kentucky native has released five albums to date, including a gospel album and Dear Companion, a collaboration with Ben Sollee. Often, you'll find DMM working/recording/touring/drinking tea/throwing frisbee with Dan Dorff Jr., Joan Shelley, Jim James, Kevin Ratterman, Dave Givan, and a whole host of other talented musicians from around the commonwealth, the country and the globe.

WFPK Winter Wednesday was created in 2012 as a way to continue WFPK’s successful concert series, Waterfront Wednesday, during the winter months. The series is presented by 91.9 FM WFPK and the Clifton Center and is first come, first seated and FREE to all. The Clifton Center is located at 2117 Payne St., Louisville, KY 40206.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The music will start at approximately 7:30 p.m. Preferred seating is available to members of 91.9 WFPK and the Friends of the Clifton Center. Members will receive information via email to reserve their seats prior to the general public.

Support for WFPK Winter Wednesday comes from Commonwealth Bank & TrustQuest Outdoors and Sweetwater Brewing Company.

Winter Wednesday also continues WFPK’s long partnership with Yum! Brands Foundation to raise food for Dare to Care. Everyone in attendance is encouraged to bring canned goods and other non-perishable food items to be collected at the door.
