Louisville Public Media Promotes Daniel Gilliam to Director of Radio

Louisville Public Media has promoted Classical 90.5 Program Director Daniel Gilliam to Director of Radio. In this position, he will guide radio and audio production, working closely with content leaders, including the Executive Editor and the WFPK Program Director, to deliver programming consistent with the mission and vision of Louisville Public Media. Gilliam will oversee the programming and quality of sound across all three stations, as well as audio delivered through digital-only platforms, streams, and other formats.

“As we continue to improve the quality of our digital presence, it's essential that we not lose sight of our core business, which is broadcasting. Daniel will make sure that every second of our broadcast is of the highest quality,” said Donovan Reynolds, LPM President and General Manager.

Gilliam will assume this new position effective immediately.

“I'm excited to start this new role and look forward to working with everyone on our core business of radio/audio, and most importantly serving our listeners and community with our three stations and the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting,” he said.

Gilliam, a Louisville native, is program director and weekday afternoon host of Classical 90.5 (WUOL). He is the producer and host of the award-winning series African American Voices, a regular pre-concert host for the Louisville Orchestra, and a music critic for Classical 90.5 and WFPL News. Gilliam also spent a couple years at Classical Minnesota Public Radio as Program Director and is known as a composer of art songs, orchestral, chamber and choral music.
