Louisville Public Media’s just-concluded spring membership campaign raised $402,389, it was announced today. A large portion of this total was donated by 1,155 new members, 10% over the targeted goal. The overall monetary goal for the drive was $390,000.“We are simply overwhelmed by this show of support,” says LPM President Donovan Reynolds. “In these tough economic times, we know that our listeners are making very careful choices about their giving. They have made it clear that they believe public radio is an essential service, and for this we are deeply grateful.”The success of this year’s drive is attributed to “the transparency of sharing the goals with our listeners,” says LPM Membership Manager Jennifer Goodman. “We let them know how much we trust them by telling them how much money we need in order to continue the services that they have come to count on. And our listeners responded by stepping up and helping not only reach, but surpass our goals.”Although the drive has concluded, it is still possible to become a member of public radio or to renew membership.
