Kentucky State Fair Board President Leaving For San Diego Post

The head of the Kentucky State Fair Board will leave in April to become the president and chief executive of the San Diego Convention Center, according to a news release issued late Friday afternoon.

Clifford "Rip" Rippetoe has led the fair board since 2013, taking over the agency after the departure of its longtime president, Harold Workman.

The fair board oversees the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center and its signature event, the Kentucky State Fair. The board is also responsible for the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville, which is slated to temporarily close for a large-scale renovation.
