Here's the Lineup For the 2015 Outskirts Festival

Submitted image

The Outskirts Festival, which seeks to highlight female-led or female-driven bands, has announced the lineup for its second year.

The festival happens the weekend of Oct. 9-11 and will include a return to Louisville of the band Freakwater. The shows are open to all ages, and venues include the New Vintage Showcase and Art Sanctuary.

In addition to the scheduled performances, the educational component of the festival will also take place that weekend.

The Outskirts Rockshops for Girls is a two-day workshop for girls, female-identifying, and gender non-conforming youth aged 10 to 18. Participants learn instruments, form bands, and write and perform an original song.

One of the bands that formed at last year's Rockshop, Sorry Mom, is still together and will perform at the festival this year.

Here's the lineup at this time. Organizers say there will be a second round of performers announced later this summer.

• Big Momma Thorazine (Louisville)
• Blackbirds of Paradise (Louisville)
• Blind Tigers (Louisville)
