FFA Convention Won't Return to Louisville Anytime Soon

This fall’s national FFA convention in Louisville will likely be the last in the city for the better part of a decade, if not longer.

Louisville and Indianapolis have been alternating as convention sites in recent years, with each city hosting for three years.

The FFA had the option of returning to Louisville in 2019 for another three year run, but the group’s board of directors has decided not to come back, and will negotiate with Indianapolis officials to hold the convention there from 2016 through 2024.

FFA leaders say membership and convention attendance have been on the rise and the group needs more meeting room space and hotel rooms.

The FFA convention is attended by more than 50,000 young people and has an estimated economic impact of some $40 million.
