Louisville Visual Art Association Executive Director Shannon Westerman has resigned from the organization effective Friday, the Courier-Journal reports.
Board president Robert Wallenberg shared the news with member artists in an e-mail. Phone calls to the organization were not immediately returned.
Westerman could not be reached for comment.
Westerman has been in the executive director role since 2008. Business manager Penny Leach will lead the organization while the board searches for Westerman's replacement.
The LVAA is set to hold one of its major fundraising events, Art [Squared], on Saturday.
The organization, since 1909, has worked to promote art in Louisville. The group offers educational programs for children and adults, provides support services for artists, and coordinates exhibitions.
