U.S. Sen. Rand Paul officially announced his bid for president Tuesday morning with a post on his website.
"I am running for president to return our country to the principles of liberty and limited government," read the message on Paul's site.
Kentucky's junior senator is holding a news conference Tuesday at the Galt House hotel in Louisville.
