The public will have a chance later this month to offer input on the tentative selection of a Virginia company to handle electronic tolling on new Ohio River bridges linking Kentucky and Indiana.
The Indiana Finance Authority will hold a public hearing March 26 at the Sheraton Riverside Hotel in Jeffersonville on the tolling contractor.
Indiana is leading the procurement on behalf of both states.
The finance authority voted Friday to allow a proposal submitted by Virginia-based Kapsch TrafficCom to move forward with the tolling contract.
Kapsch was selected from among three bidders who participated in the proposal process. A joint evaluation committee composed of officials from both Indiana and Kentucky scored the proposals.
It's the second time Kapsch has been selected for the job. Last year, the company's preliminary selection was withdrawn after questions were raised regarding conflicts of interest in process.
