Louisville Hosts Annual College and Career Expo Sunday

The region’s largest college and career recruiting event is this Sunday in Louisville.  The 22nd annual College and Career Expo will include representatives from more than 250 colleges and employers from across the country, including local employers like UPS and Jefferson County Public Schools.Attendees can meet one-on-one with recruiters, counselors and admission representatives. There will also be opportunities to learn more about scholarships that are available.More Kentucky students are college and career ready as measured by the state’s education department. Data released last week show 62.3 percent of high school students are considered to be college or career ready. In Jefferson County that number is 60.5 percent. The designation "college and career ready" is based on passing certain tests or earning certain certificates. While more students are college and career ready, according to the state’s latest data, a report from Louisville’s 55,000 Degrees program shows many students will apply to college but not show up in the fall. The College and Career Expo will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. this Sunday at Kentucky Expo Center’s South Wing.
