A federal judge has sentenced the founder of USA Harvest to a two-year prison term for keeping thousands of dollars in donations to the charity for himself.Stan Curtispleaded guilty in July to taking for himself more than $183,000 in donations he solicited on behalf of the now-defunct USA Harvest, which used volunteers to pick up surplus food from restaurants, hotels and other places and deliver it to missions, shelters and people in need.Curtis must also make restitution, with the money going to Kentucky Harvest, a charity also founded by Curtis. It was not involved in the court case.Curtis, 66, was named in a seven-count indictment charging him with mail fraud, money laundering, and filing false income tax returns.
