Starting next week, we will be making some changes to the WFPL News radio schedule. Studio 360 is coming back. Thursday nights at 9, Kurt Andersen brings you insightful takes on arts and culture. Here's a look back at Mad Magazine from the American Icons series.
Second, Fridays are changing. We’ll now bring you local, national and international news from 1-3 p.m. with Here & Now. Byline will be going away, but many of the features of the show will now fold into Here & Now, including our conversations about the week's political stories. And Erin Keane's weekend arts preview is moving to Here & Now on Thursdays at 1:49 p.m., to give you more time to make weekend plans.
One other note for its diehard fans: Science Friday will now air at 3 p.m. every Friday.
Bob Edwards Weekend is moving from Saturday afternoons to Friday night at 9 p.m., after rising star Jesse Thorn’s interview program Bullseye, which airs at 8. And, for some listeners this will be the biggest and best news: Radiolab is back and features new episodes every week! JadAbumrad and Robert Krulwich will take over 89.3 FM every Saturday from 4-5.
Balancing the needs and desires of 96,000 listeners isn't easy, but we hope you enjoy the new schedule, and, as always, let us know what you think.
