The former CEO of Kentucky Shakespeare who resigned amid a scandal last year has filed a lawsuit against his former company, alleging he is owed more than $100,000 in bonus pay, according to a WDRB report. Brantley Dunaway filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Jefferson Circuit Court and claimed his contract stipulated he receive a bonus of $109,514, the television station reported.
Dunaway resigned last July, shortly after WFPL reported on his personal woes, including an emergency protective order against him filed by his wife, a Kentucky Shakespeare actress.The company's run of "Twelfth Night" in Central Park was quickly canceled.WFPL also exposed a deeper history of alleged employee abuse and financial mismanagement within the theater group. They alleged he used the company credit card for personal expenses. They also claimed he used company vehicles inappropriately and had his own clothing dry cleaned under the company's account.The Kentucky Shakespeare bounced back this year and its return to Central Park was a success. In its opening week last month, the company reported a 70 percent increase in audience over last year.
