The Louisville Cardinals baseball team fell behind the Vanderbilt Commodore in the second inning on a wild pitch Saturday, and stayed behind the rest of the game.Louisville lost to Vanderbilt 5-3 in its first game of the 2014 College World Series in Omaha.The Cardinals will play the Texas Longhorns on Monday in an elimination game (the College World Series is a double-elimination tournament).Cardinals ace pitcher Kyle Funkhouser threw the wild pitch in the third and was credited with the loss. Vanderbilt pitcher Carson Fulmer got the win.Louisville trailed 4-o into the fifth inning until the Cardinals' Sutton Whiting tripled, scoring Grant Kay from first base. The Cardinals cut the lead to a run in the seventh but would never pull even or lead the Commodores. Louisville led in hits, nine to seven.Texas fell Saturday to UC Irvine.
