The ethics trial against former Kentucky lawmaker John Arnold may continue.Arnold wasaccused of sexually harassing female statehouse staffers, and faced ethics complaints over the allegations. Earlier this month, the Kentucky Legislative Ethics Commission voted 4-1 to find Arnold guilty of ethics violations. But because the panel is supposed to have nine members, five guilty votes are required for a conviction—and Arnold was let off.But since the commission did not consider a motion to dismiss the case, it isn't technically over. They'll hold another hearing May 7 to discuss their options, which are unclear given the unusual and unique nature of the case. While the panel could dismiss, it's expected critics of the not-guilty verdict will hope the hearings continue.Arnold, a Democrat from Sturgis, resigned in September after the allegations became public. His health was an issue brought up in the ethics case.
