Repairs are complete on the ramp that carries traffic from Interstate 65 North to westbound Interstate 64. The ramp was reopened to traffic at 1:00pm today. Mindy Peterson with the Ohio River Bridges Project says the ramp had to be shut down more than a week ago so workers could repair one of its supports."This is the ramp that was closed for a weekend in December when we noticed some problems with a support column. We were able to get in back in December to make some temporary repairs and very quickly get the ramp reopen to traffic. We knew at the time that more extensive repairs would be needed and that’s what crews have been completing now are these more extensive repairs," she said. The repair work was conducted by a bridges project contractor because it’s in the path of the project’s downtown crossing. The ramp will eventually be torn down to make way for reconstruction of the Kennedy Interchange.
