Eugene Mirman Brings Absurdist Comedy Tour to Louisville

Brooklyn-based stand-up comedian Eugene Mirman has been named Best New York City Comedian by The Village Voice, one of the fifty funniest comedians by Time Out New York, and one of best of the decade by Paste magazine. He's also one of the hardest-working comics on the scene, running the annual Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival (it started as a self-deprecating joke, of course, between friends) and the stand-up showcase Pretty Good Friends, and appearing on multiple television shows, including "Flight of the Conchords."His gentle-yet-absurd brand of comedy can be found on three stand-up albums, his self-help parody book, “The Will to Whatevs,” and on Fox TV, where he voices the role of young Gene Belcher on the critically-acclaimed animated family sitcom “Bob’s Burgers.”WFPL's Erin Keane caught up with Mirman in his Brooklyn home for a chat before he hit the road on his latest tour. Mirman performs at Headliner's Tuesday, with poet Derrick Brown opening.
