Friday is the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination. In remembrance, WFPL will air two specials, one marking the assassination, the other remembering the funeral three days later.Friday 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.: We Knew JFK: Unheard Stories from the Kennedy ArchiveThis new documentary contains never-before-broadcast interviews with people close to JFK, recorded after the assassination. Journalist Robert MacNeil hosts. Monday, Nov. 25 8 p.m. - 9 p.m.: Jean Shepherd Eulogizes JFKKenenedy was buried at Arlington National Commentary on Nov. 25. That day, Jean Shepherd (known best as the writer and narrator of A Christmas Story) eschewed the usual humor of his weekly radio program to eulogize the president. As this special's producers say, "it’s punctuated with Shepherd’s mordant commentary on contemporary American life and remains fresh and relevant today."
