When Metro Government first began collecting public input on the city's 25-year plan, dubbed Vision Louisville, the Mayor's spokesman said suggestions about public transit (light rail, better bus service) were among the most popular.Based on the suggestions the city has collected online, that seems to be the case.
You can submit more ideas online or at any of the upcoming public meetings. The next meetingis on Tuesday at the Marine Hospital on Northwestern Parkway. The mayor's office is seeking 45,000 ideas by mid-August. The suggestions will be cataloged, then considered for inclusion in the city's long-term plan.Apart from transportation, it seems many residents offering suggestions want more life, vibrancy and aesthetics in urban and heavily-populated areas.
Some ideas focus more on economic development, social justice and improved quality of life.
The mayor's office also said “We’re looking for crazy ideas, wacky ideas, cool ideas, crazy ideas, innovative ideas…any idea." That's also seems to be the case.
And some ideas are simply brilliant.
