Rick Pitino will be featured on a limited edition series of Maker's Mark bourbon bottles benefiting a University of Louisville academic project.It's the latest honor for the Cardinals' men's basketball coach, who led the team to the2013 national championshipand will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in September. (He was also introduced to body art recently.)Maker's Mark will create 12,600 bottles featuring Pitino. It's the second of three commemorative bottles the Loretto, Ky.-based distillery is making to support UofL's Academic Center of Excellence, which will be home to UofL's academic support for athletes, including tutoring and classroom space. It'll be located at the south end of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.The first Maker's Mark bottle in the series featured Cardinals football coach Charlie Strong and sold more than 8,400 bottles. Purchasing details for the Pitino bottles will be announced later.
