One of Louisville’s most popular restaurants closed abruptly last weekend after 22 years in business. Lynn Winter, the owner and founder of Lynn’s Paradise Café, would say only in e-mails to the media that it’s time to move on to other ventures. But Winter and her restaurant, known for its kitschy and whimsical décor and nationally recognized food, had drawn media attention and some backlash in recent weeks over a controversial policy on how servers were expected to share tips with support staff. The closing of Lynn’s Paradise Café has prompted many to try to learn more about Lynn Winter and that has led them to a lengthy profile of her published in last November’s issue of Louisville Magazine. It was written by managing editor Josh Moss. Friday on Byline, WFPL's Rick Howlett spoke with Josh Moss about his impressions of Lynn Winter and the time he spent with her.
