Winter Storm Pounding Indiana; Louisville Spared Major Snowfall

The Louisville Metro area remains under a winter weather advisory until 7:00 this evening, with about an inch of snow and sleet accumulation expected.Louisville sits on the southern edge of a huge winter storm system moving across the upper Midwest.It’s a different story in southcentral Indiana, where blizzard warnings remains in effect. Total snowfall amounts could reach a foot in some areas.    Several inches of snow are expected in counties closer to the Ohio River. Indiana State Police say roads in the warning area are snow-covered and hazardous, and the storm system is affecting air travel schedules.Some counties in far western Kentucky have also been receiving heavy snow.
