A major whiskey company has relocated its new global services center in downtown Louisville.
Beam Incorporated announced Thursday it has already employed 30 regional employees and begun training for the new center that will conduct the company's financial and human resources services. In the next 12 months, there will be around 60 employees working in the new Fourth Street Live space, which is located above the Gordon Biersch restaurant.Beam’s global services director Juan Rodriguez said the company chose Louisville because the state and city offered a decent incentives package, and because of Louisville’s talent pool.“We’re very happy that we’ve been very successful in identifying the skill set and the capacity that we’re looking for to be able to support the current positions we’ve recruited for so far," Rodriguez said.A mayoral spokesman says the average salary will be $80,000. The $1.7 million retrofit is expected to begin immediately.
