Candidacy papers have been filed for a Libertarian presidential candidate to appear on Kentucky's ballot.Today is the deadline for candidates' campaigns to file their paperwork for the November 6 election. Third party candidates need 5,000 signatures and $500 to appear on the ballot, and those have been turned in for Gary Johnson.Johnson is the former two-term governor of New Mexico. His campaign coordinator in Kentucky says it took more than four months to collect enough signatures.Johnson is expected to draw a few conservative votes away from Republican candidate Mitt Romney, though Romney is heavily favored to win Kentucky.Additional information from the Associated Press
