The ratings from July sweeps are in and WLKY has bested most of its competition in Louisville.Business First has a breakdown of the numbers, which show that WLKY has the highest rated newscasts at noon, 5 pm, 11pm and 4:30 am on weekdays and 6 am on weekends. WHAS won the other time slots with the heaviest competition, and WDRB won the weekday 4 pm news ratings. WAVE trailed in most timeslots. Andrew Robinson also notes that "Local viewers seemed to prefer local programming over national news in the morning," and "Local viewers showed support for Louisville native Diane Sawyer.
