Hail Storm Knocks Out Power Across Area

Heavy rains and hail blew through Jefferson County tonight. Golf ball-sized hail was reported across the city around 8 p.m.About 2,700 LG&E customers were without power at 10:00 p.m. About 900 Duke Energy customers in southern Indiana lost power as well. Lightning struck a substation near the Bullitt County line between 8:15 and 8:30, briefly knocking out power to about 15,000 residents, but LG&E was able to restore power within minutes.
