Led by conservative blogger Erick Erickson, a vocal band of activists are expressing their anger with Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and blaming the GOP chief for just about everything. The CNN contributor held a recent conference call where said Kentucky's senior Senator hasn't been conservative enough and shared his overall contempt. From Roll Call: "There are Democrats, Republicans and appropriators. Mitch McConnell is an appropriator before he’s a Republican,” said Erickson, who is also a CNN contributor. "He’s not willing to engage in the fight; he’s a consummate Washington guy." Erickson ... said McConnell has sided with Republican Conference moderates at the expense of caucus conservatives and the tea-party-inspired reforms they have been pushing. Erickson acknowledged that any Republican governing majority in the Senate will necessarily include moderates from states that lean Democratic. But he accused McConnell of using that fact as “cover” to avoid implementing a conservative agenda.Supporters argue Erickson's opinion is a "minority viewpoint within the tea party activist community" but there is undoubtedly displeasure with McConnell amongst the Tea Party faithful, which only makes the behind the scenes relationship between McConnell and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., more interesting
