A public meeting will be held tomorrow to announce traffic changes related to the upcoming closure of the Milton-Madison Bridge and an overview of construction activities. The 82 year old Ohio River bridge connecting Milton, Kentucky and Madison, Indiana is getting a new superstructure (pictured) and its existing piers are being reinforced. Greg Prince with the Indiana Department of Transporation says the work will require the bridge to be closed for five days next month."Those dates are April 25 through 29 and the closure is subject to change, depending on weather conditions and river levels," he said. During that time motorists will have to detour 26 miles upstream to the Markland Locks and Dam Bridge or downstream to Louisville. Another five-day closure is also scheduled before the construction work is finished in 2013. The public meeting will be held at 6:00pm tomorrow at the Brown Gym in Madison, Indiana.
