NPR Health Blogger Scott Hensley on Birth Control Recall, $10 Million in Fines to Red Cross, NCAA's Sickle Cell Testing: State of the News

Drug company Pfizer said a mislabeling problem lead to inactive, placeholder pills to be put out of order within the packaging, so women could be taking the non-functioning medicine at the wrong time of the cycle. Scott Hensley from NPR's health blog, Shots, joined us on Friday's State of the News to talk about the recall, another widespread contraceptive recall in South Africa, why the FDA is fining the Red Cross $10 million, and controversial sickle cell testing in the NCAA.
