Two Officers Upgraded to Stable Condition, Suspect Dead

This story has been updated from a previous report.The two officers taken to U of L Hospital who were involved in a shooting in west Louisville have been upgraded to stable condition, said public information officer Carey Klain.The shooter has been declared dead.Police responded to reports of shots fired and approached a vehicle that matched the description.  While on scene two officers were fired upon. A bullet grazed one officer's face and damage caused by shattered glass injured both officers.At this time the death is being called self-inflicting but the Louisville Metro Police Department is still investigating the event. Klain said police are searching for someone for questioning but who is not considered a suspect at this time.Klain could not say whether either officer is likely to be released from the hospital Tuesday.
