From Josh James, Kentucky Public Radio A consultanting company from Chicago has begun studying issues of efficiency at the University of Kentucky.UK president Eli Capilouto says Huron Consulting is working with a committee to update the university's goals and strategic plan.Capilouto says the consultants, who will be paid about $1.2 million out of university reserves, will address UK's administrative structure, debt load, process for reviewing tenured faculty, and how the university can pay for proposed campus improvements."We need an in-depth analysis of our ability to finance the revitalization and expansion of the infrastructure of the main campus," said in a video sent to students, faculty and staff.Huron Consulting could continue its work through June of next year.
