The Louisville Urban League is sponsoring an event this week aimed at helping homeowners who are in foreclosure or facing the possibility of losing their home. The group’s Christy McCravy says the “Preserving Homeownership Fair” will allow residents to talk face-to-face with lenders and others to discusstheir situation. "If their lender is not present, they have the opportunity to meet with a counselor or attend workshops that will be provided by local agencies, giving them information on alternatives and how their credit will be affected and how they can pursue homeownership in the future," she said. McCravy says with unemployment in the Louisville area still around 10-percent, there are hundreds of people across the community facing the threat of foreclosure. The “Preserving Homeownership Fair” will be held Thursday from 3-7pm at the Kentucky Center for African-American Heritage on West Muhammad Ali Boulevard.
