Democracy Now Host Amy Goodman Coming to Louisville (AUDIO)

Democracy NOW host Amy Goodman will be in Louisville on Saturday as the keynote speaker for the ACLU of Kentucky’s annual Bill of Rights Dinner.The award-winning investigative journalist and syndicated columnist broadcasts her program on more than 950 public radio and television stations across the country. She is also the author of four New York Times bestsellers.The ACLU appearance this weekend is part of Goodman’s book tour promoting Breaking the Sound Barrier, which is a three-year collection of her columns on a number of hot button topics.Goodman spoke with WFPL this week about the recent execution of Troy Davis, the growth of the Occupy Wall Street movement and her recent settlementment with St. Paul police and the U.S. Secret Service over her controversial arrest at the Republican National Convention in 2008.The public reception is scheduled for October 22 at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner will start at 6 p.m. in the Kentucky Center for African-American Heritage located at 1701 W.
