A November 23rd hearing date has been set for arguments on whether Indiana’s Secretary of State should remain in office. The Indiana Recount Commission in June rejected the state Democratic Party’s argument that Republican Charlie White is ineligible, but the party petitioned for a judicial review of the ruling. White is accused of illegally using his ex-wife’s address on a voter registration form when he declared his candidacy. He contends that was his primary residence at the time. He’s also under indictment on seven felony charges related to his voter registration. White could be removed from office if he’s convicted of any one those charges. His trial is set for January 30.
