Rosanne Cash Returns To Louisville For KAF

Singer, songwriter and author Rosanne Cash will be in Louisville tonight to participate in the University of Louisville’s Kentucky Author Forum. Cash will discuss her New York Times best-selling memoir Composed, recently published in paperback, in which she writes about growing up as the daughter of Johnny Cash and forging her own musical career. "People seemed to connect to it and I just couldn’t be more proud. I’ve done a bunch of these book events where I go around and do questions and answers. It’s just been a whole new way to connect and I love that," she told WFPL. Cash has a special connection with Louisville. Her most commercially successful album, King’s Record Shop, is named for a now-defunct downtown Louisville music store. The album cover (right), featuring the King’s storefront, won a Grammy award for best art direction. Cash will be interviewed by Nick Spitzer, host of the American Routes radio program starting at 6:00pm at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. You can hear our complete interview with Rosanne Cash on Here and Now today at 1pm on WFPL.

Rick Howlett is host of WFPL's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." Email Rick at rhowlett@lpm.org.
