The University of Louisville Cardinals defeated Murray State 21-9 tonight in the football season opener for both teams.The Cards scored all their points in the first half, and the defense was able to limit the visiting Racers to a field goal and touchdown.Louisville's next opponent is Florida International University. They'll square off next Friday at 7:00pm at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
