The campaign for Republican attorney general candidate Todd P'Pool released a statement in response to news that Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway's office has named a special prosecutor to investigate possible campaign finance violations by Sullivan University. From the P'Pool campaign:"If Jack Conway is in the mood to appoint special prosecutors, then the first thing that needs to be investigated are the serious accusations that state employees have been coerced into contributing to political campaigns," says David Ray, P'Pool's campaign manager. "The second thing that should be investigated is Jack Conway's own involvement in the compromised drug investigation of his brother. But since neither of those investigations would benefit Mr. Conway politically, I'm not holding my breath."
Sullivan’s chancellor and other top officials have contributed $12,000 to P'Pool thus far.
