Beshear Unaware of Whistleblower's Allegations

During an interview with WHAS-11 on Tuesday, Democratic Governor Steve Beshear told the Louisville television station he hadn't heard about an allegation that state employees were being threatened with termination if they did not contribute to his re-election campaign.The station promoted their story as catching the governor off guard, however, the whistleblower story broke Monday and Beshear pointed out he was in the Pentagon being briefed by Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta before his surprise trip to Iraq. "I've been here in Kuwait and Iraq for the last couple of days," he said.Check it out:Meanwhile, the Republican Party of Kentucky is trumpeting the allegations as an "exploding scandal his administration" and is highlighting its own questions it feels Beshear needs to answer.Beshear is running against Republican David Williams and independent Gatewood Galbraith.
